To Our Listeners

Despite every attempt executed, the Weekly Informer has basically died off. Maybe it is not permanent, but it will last for at least the length of the summer. Moving, work, and final exams finally gave the show the final nail in the casket. I apologize for anyone who was looking forward to new episodes, but for now it cannot become reality.

However, there is a potential route for a TV version of the show. This is the route that I am currently exploring. Hopefully, it works out and I am able to provide the same objective perspectives and great mix of the week's news to the public.

In closing, I'd also like to remind everyone in the 8 minutes of Memorial Day that are left to remember the soldiers and veterans. There are many people who died in order for us to keep the freedoms we have and enjoy. Show them some respect.

Update on our Technical Glitch

I'm very disappointed to say that there will not be an episode this week, or next. It will be so much easier to wait until May 2nd.

Here's a little update on what happened. I was opening GarageBand to record the podcast, all of a sudden I get the "spinning wheel of death". I tried everything, so I shut it down the hard way, and restarted. I get the blinking folder with a question mark on it. Thus, there is no way to boot. Put in the Leopard DVD to try and fix it, but when I tried to repair the hard drive, there was none. So I took the drive out, reseated it and still nothing.

Here's what happened, I found many articles (and forum users complaining) that Seagate, the manufacturer of the drive had problems with the magnetic read heads just falling off of the disks, and gouging huge lines through the disk, thus making recovery impossible (once it gets to track 0). I have a hard drive on rush order from newegg.com, so it should be here today. However, I also have to pack to move into a new apartment on Friday, this should be fun...

Anyway, with 5 days of work (at least) and final exams tacked on as well, I don't think there's anyway I can have a new episode out. May 2nd will be the next day. If I decide to change it, I'll let you know.

I just wanted to let our listeners know we won't have another episode until Friday. Once again, April 18, 2008 will be our next episode. A Slight Delay
